The faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of UIII initiated to design of a flagship program to create excellent leaders in the area of Islamic Social Finance in Indonesia. Collaborating with Bank Indonesia (BI) Institute, FEB UIII promoted “Strategic Capabilities Development for Sharia Economic and Finance Leader 2022: Towards an Impactful Social Finance” as the theme of the five-day program since November, 14th 2022. This theme was chosen to refine the technical skills of the players in Islamic social finance, particularly in quantitative and regulatory aspects. What is more, the program served as the UIII entry point to manage national initiatives with relevant ministries and authorities, and contribute studies that are more impactful in the alignment of digital technology on Islamic Economics and Finance.
The agenda invited renowned speakers from the national to the global level in the 18 panelist sessions. Not only were they from Durham university, INCEIF, IsDB, World Bank, Network for Empowered Aid Response (NEAR), Indonesia Waqf Board (BWI), and IFSB, but also AFSI, OJK, Universitas Padjajaran, Universitas Brawijaya, DSN-MUI, BWI, Finca. id, and Belajar Lagi. At the end of the event, there was an announcement of the three best papers from Call for Papers through which the winners would be awarded Master’s and Doctoral scholarships in UIII for the period of 2023-2024.
