Description:

This study examines the relationship between income inequality, cardiovascular disease (CVD), health expenditure, and education in ASEAN-6 countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, and Vietnam. Using panel data from 1992–2015, the findings show that income inequality is closely linked to cardiovascular disease in both the short and long run. The study also finds that health expenditure and education levels significantly influence health outcomes across the region.
