The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) has delegated four students to participate in the Durham Islamic Finance Summer School (DIFSS) 2024. The event was organized by the Durham Centre for Islamic Economics and Finance at Durham University Business School, Durham University, and took place from July 29 to August 2, 2024.
FEB UIII has once again sent its students to participate in DIFSS 2024. The delegation consists of four students who were selected by their respective study programs. The DIFSS 2024 event took place at the Durham University Business School, UK. The event was attended by 67 delegates from 25 different countries.”
DIFSS 2024 hosted 67 delegates who traveled from 25 different countries with various professional and academic backgrounds, including bankers, financiers, legal experts, regulators, public policymakers, politicians, and professional and academic researchers,” posted Prof. Mehmet Asutay, Director of the Durham Centre for Islamic Economics and Finance, on his LinkedIn account.
“We are very grateful to be able to participate in this event. The Durham Islamic Finance Summer School is an annual event organized by Durham University Business School and is a flagship program in promoting Islamic finance globally,” said Ecky Imamul Muttaqin, one of the FEB UIII delegates at DIFSS 2024.
The DIFSS is an annual event that has been organized by Durham University Business School since 2006. The event focuses on training related to the principles, operations, techniques, and mechanisms of Islamic finance, as well as Islamic financial products and the dynamics of Islamic capital and money markets.
The DIFSS is expected to take place again next year in July 2025. “Durham’s story in Islamic economics and finance will continue to impact knowledge and practice development. We are looking forward to DIFSS 2025 in July 2025,” said Prof. Mehmet Asutay.
